With a 5-track E.P. titled Cypress Hill X Rusko hitting stores this April, the band appears to be 100% committed to this new sound. One of the tracks overheard pounding from within KROQ’s Music Department featured vocals from a heavily auto-tuned Damian Marley. Expect the unexpected from this band.

The first track leaked, titled Roll It, Light It is dense and futuristic yet stays grounded via B Real and Sen Dog’s rather green leafy-inspired lyrics.

Last week, The Situation left the house, but he made his return at the beginning of this episode.  The reason for his return? He left expecting people to chase him and beg him to stay,which did not happen. He explains that he’s very sensitive about stuff like that, because “he’s a Cancer”.

What he doesn’t know is that the girls of the house are planning a surprise party for him and Pauly D.  They decide that there has to be strippers at the party, so they go to  the “Wizard of Ass”  to pick out the girls. The party ends up going off without a hitch, and The Situation ends up taking home a blond stripper who had given him a dance.

The partying continues the next night at the club, where Sammi ends up disappearing.  Pauly ends up finding her in the middle of a girl fight.  Turns out Sammi got her weave grabbed, and in response “self-defended herself”.

Back at the house, the roommates still can’t get over Vinny being away from the house. Pauly decides that they should just go get him, so they pile into their Escalates and drive to Staten Island.  They find Vinny a changed man, and by changed, I mean he has a huge new stupid chest tattoo.  The episode ends with Vinny getting in the car with the roommates, deciding that he is ready to “continue his recovery”.

This particular song from these New Wave kings (they certainly perfected the sound) encapsulates the overall alienation and determination of the KROQer of the 80′s and 90′s – and shit like that. Our uncle JACK stole this album several years back and refuses to return it (the not-so-good LIVE versions are all you can seem to find anymore), but here’s the original clip via YouTube.

One For the Money:

A lot of chicks read this book (including Lisa May). Katherine Heigl stars as Stephanie Plum, an unemployed, newly divorced woman, who lands a job at her cousin’s bail bond business. See… she’s like a real girlie girl, and then she has to make a living, so she becomes Dog the Bounty Hunter! This is the first, of what they’re promising is many, Stephanie Plum movies because there have been many books.

Albert Nobbs:

You’ve heard a lot about this movie because Glenn Close has been nominated for a lot of different awards for this role, where she plays another woman who can’t get a job, just like Katherine Heigl’s character, only this time, this woman decides that she’s going to pretend to be a man and become a butler. If you look at Glenn Close in this, you know she wasn’t gonna get a man, so she became a male impersonator. Boy, that seems like a long movie to me!

Man On A Ledge:

A police psychologist has to work to talk down an ex-con, played by Sam Worthington, who’s threatening to jump a Manhattan hotel rooftop while the biggest diamond heist ever is in motion. He’s the distraction while they’re stealing the diamond. He was wrongly accused of a crime and here’s his chance to prove himself innocent.

Elizabeth Banks plays the police psychologist, and Ed Harris returns to films, thank God. I hadn’t seen Ed Harris in a long time. He’s a great, great actor! This has got some potential. A ledge is not the greatest location for an action film, but I’m guessing they make it work.

The Grey:

Liam Neeson, Dermot Mulroney, and James Badge Dale star in this. In Alaska, an oil drilling team struggles to survive when their plane crash strands them in the wild, in the snow. Then things get worse because they become hunted by a pack of wolves who see them as intruders. They are not singing wolves, like in Twilight. Sadly, these wolves just eat you.

At the least, I think this looks interesting. It looks like one of those bleak, desolate, man against nature films that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It looks like there’s a lot of snow. That’s for sure.

I think they should have combined The Grey with One For the Money, called it One For the Grey, and had the wolves eat Katherine Heigl and her family. That would have been a movie I found enormously satisfying. Eat Albert Nobbs while you’re at it too.

35-year-old Tyree Lincoln Smith was arrested in Lynn Haven, Florida this week for suspicion of killing a man with an axe. The force of the blows split the victim’s head wide open so Tyree helped himself to an eyeball and some brains, put them in a baggie, and had a little picnic in a nearby cemetery.

Smith had found a Mr. Angel Gonzalez, 43, sleeping outside one night and invited him into his apartment to get warm. Awwwww! At least the victim was comfortable before he was a snack, right?

With all the beat stomps and head-crunching guitars flying around, Sleigh Bells throw down a memorable video — playing hookie in the new video giving Ferris Buller a run for his money.

“Comeback Kid” (that’s the single artwork, ablaze, above) shows a little tweak in the Sleigh Bells formula — meaning it’s not as loud, and features some audible synth and production touches in the background, as well as a tighter pop-song structure/formula.

That said, Krauss prances around in multiple costume changes with a rifle and Miller skates in a Nirvana tee and oh why haven’t you clicked on the video already!
